On 21st June 2026, the entire world celebrated the now global occasion of International Yoga Day. Under Mr Ishwar Ramlutchman (Prince Mabheka), the Sivananda World Peace Foundation brought all major organizations & nearly 4,500 attendees together in Durban to perform yoga at the event, including Chinmaya Mission of South Africa. Among the esteemed guests of honour was Pujya Swami Abhedananda (In-Charge, CM South Africa).Swamiji delivered a unique & powerful talk, sharing profound wisdom & practical tips for integrating the vision of YOGA in one's own life. 

Swamiji expanded YOGA into four aspects:

Y for Young – to be full of dynamism, energy, & youthfulness, ever-ready to serve all. 

O for Overall Growth – to be an integrated personality which respects all, shares success, & stays grateful

for God – acknowledging the blessings of God in one's life & dedicating all endeavours unto Him

for Acceptance – including more, excluding less, & not seeing fault in others Prominent members of the State & Monarchy interacted joyfully with Swami Abhedananda, including His Majesty King MisuZulu kaZwelithini, the Hon Premier of KZN Mr Thami Ntuli, & Minister of Cooperative Governance Mr Velenkosini Hlabisa, as well as several other dignitaries, revered saints, & devotees.

 The event was a landmark of the rising soft power of Bharat & Sanatana Dharma through universal practices like Yoga, & was an affirmation of the strong bond shared between the people & nations of South Africa & India. The Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi was remembered several times at the event for his historic contribution of bringing 175+ nations to declare 21st June as the International Day of Yoga. Notably, the Mission's 'Nourish to Flourish' project provided 4,500 freshly packed lunch boxes to all attendees at the event, exhibiting support to Sivananda Foundation's endeavour, & empowering the spirit of unity through Yoga.##ChinmayaMission #YogaDay #
