Kolkata: One-hundred-and-twenty-seven-year-old Sivananda Baba was given the ‘World Peace Foundation Award’ by a South Africa-based organisation on Sunday. The president of the foundation, Prince Ishwar Ramlutchman Mabheka Zulu, came to Kolkata to felicitate Sivananda Baba at Kolkata Press Club on Sunday evening.

The award is conferred to those who have dedicated their life to serving the society. Swami Sivananda has shown people that the key to leading a happy, disease-free, tension-free life is following a disciplined lifestyle.

Swami Sivananda had also been conferred the Padma Shri at Rashtrapati Bhawan by former President Ram Nath Kovind on March 21.
Notable recipients of the peace award include Nelson Mandela, the Dalai Lama and Sri Sri Ravishankar.
